Padua: Palazzo del Bo (To Do)

In the first years the university of Padua, founded in 1222, was spread on the city. With the students' increase a central building was needed: Palazzo del Bo.

At the beginning it was a butchery then an Inn named Hospitium Bovis, Ox Inn, it was adapted to the universitarian uses in 1539. Later it was demolished and rebuilt in 1552 with the structure as it is visitable today: square yard with columns.

Palazzo Bo holds an anatomical theatre and the Galileo Galilei's desk used during the teaching years in Padua.

Details for guided tours are available at the university website.
